Currently: June 2017

Since we’re friends, I’m sure you won’t mind if I sneak a little June Currently post in…  on the 10th of July.  Whoops!

After closing out a KILLER quarter of sales, I now have time to share all that was happening along the way.  June was quite the month, for many reasons.  Here’s a few….

CURRENT BOOK

As predicted last month, I read the new Elin Hildebrand book that came out in June.  And, as is customary, I DEVOURED it.  Highly recommend this book… and anything by Elin, really.

CURRENT BOOK (IN PROGRESS, BUT NOT FINISHED)

I also started reading the 5-Second Rule this month after being wildly motivated by my dear friend Ruth.  The premise of the book is to stop procrastinating.  To start doing whatever you’re not doing 5 seconds after you think about it.  And, you guys… it works.

CURRENT INSTAGRAM SENSATION

Since I mentioned my friend Ruth, I’ve got to tell you about this AMAZING challenge she’s started documenting on Instagram.  She’s conducting a 92-day fear conquering challenges, by doing something that SCARES her every day this entire summer!  Follow her @92DayWarrior instagram account here.

CURRENT FLOWER OBSESSION

You guys, I’ve still found peonies over the past few weeks.  And, usually, they leave stores so quickly.  I’m obsessed and will keep buying them as long as I can find them!!

CURRENT OUTDOOR YOGA

I did outdoor yoga TWICE in June!  When I was in Temecula with Crystal, we went to a beautiful class with proceeds going to City of Hope in San Diego.

And, I caught a second class here in Denver with the lovely Marisa from Uproot Kitchen celebrating the Summer Solstice!

CURRENT HOME IMPROVEMENT EXCITEMENT

I’m in the middle of a MASSIVE home improvement project right now.  Painting every room in my house, and I’m loving the initial results (even if the pace is killing me softly.)  I’ll be posting soon the full story of the renovation.

CURRENT SPA DISCOVERY

My June travels took me to Temecula, California to visit with my dear friend Crystal.  While I’ve been there many times and we’ve visited the wineries a lot, we’ve never visited the South Coast Winery until this month’s trip.  You guys, the Grapeseed Spa at the winery is absolutely incredible.  If you’re ever in the area, you’ve got to check it out.

They offer you a glass of wine after your massage and lead you to a beautiful patio where you can lounge and soak in the property.  Completely massage drunk after my treatment, I sat out there for quite some time before rejoining my friends.  Of note, if you get a massage, see if Annabelle is available.  Quite possibly in my top two massages of all time!

CURRENT FASHION FIND

Do you guys ever shop on Modcloth?  Ever since I went to a Denver popup shop, I check them out every few months.  Found this ca-yute top last month and rocked it for a blogger event in Denver.   And, it’s on sale right now!  Click here for all the details.

CURRENT RESTAURANT OBSESSION

For the first time in forever, I went to a blogger event in Denver in June.  Invited by the lovely @MileHighandHungry, we checked out The Pig and the Sprout along with a large group of Denver foodies. The food was literally to die for. Their menu is built for the serious carnivore or the serious vegetarian.  Phenomenal bbq on one plate, and then the most amazing roasted cauliflower salad on another.  Seriously, check this place out, Denver peeps.

CURRENT RECIPE I CAN’T STOP MAKING

I’ve made my watermelon gazpacho recipe three times this summer, and I don’t show any signs of stopping.  It’s THAT good.  Recipe details here.

CURRENT CORRESPONDENCE

I got a 40.5 birthday card in the mail from my oldest and dearest friend… And when she says 5, she meant 5 months.  Because today is actually my half birthday! 🙂  Still, so sweet and thoughtful!

CURRENT SUNSET

As I mentioned last month, I’m spending a LOT more time on the patio these days after its makeover.  Nearly every night (assuming I’m home), I like to check out the sunset…  sharing a peek with y’all below.

I’m Married!

I’m Married!

The last few weeks have been some of the most exciting of my life, and it feels good to be falling into a routine with my new husband. He moved into my place, and we’ve done a lot to make it feel like ours, not just mine. Our wedding was amazing. It was pretty casual, but it was still such a big ordeal! My new sister-in-law, Jessie, coordinated everything for me, which made it easy for me to relax. I still felt stressed leading up to the day because there was so much non-stop attention on me, but I was grateful too. Most people in our lives who love us were all in one place for the weekend, and we made memories that I’ll definitely carry with me for a lifetime. It was cool to see our families together too, and we all danced the night away. Even my mom cut a rug for a few minutes thanks to my sister and one of my uncles. Dad was here for a week, which was nice. I get to see everyone else pretty regularly, so it was a treat to spend time with Dad. He was really flexible too, which I […]
