That Time I Recommitted to Jenny Craig

That Time I Recommitted to Jenny Craig

So, confession time:  I’m super excited to share this post with you guys today.  And at the same time, I’m a little nervous.

This isn’t the first time I’ve shared my recommitment to my healthy living program.  I’ve fallen from the wagon in the past, and you guys have all seen me lick my wounds and try again.  Well, here we go again!

That pesky 30 lbs I’ve been carrying?  It’s time for them to go.  I’m just done with them.

It usually takes something for me to snap back onto my program, and that definitely happened this week.  The culmination of events took place this week, but let’s be honest… this has been in the works for a long time.

Here’s the latest things that caught my attention though:

My nephew was in town last weekend, and I don’t love the way I look in the pictures we took.

Yep, that’s me… no filter on the left.  Even draped in black, I see the extra weight, and I don’t like it.  I also saw this when I was in Las Vegas last month with Angela and Crystal.  I hate when I don’t enjoy my own reflection.  It super sucks, and I know it’s 150% within my control.

Another thing:  I’ve had acne lately!!  I’ve always had pretty clear skin with just random blemishes from time to time.  While I can blame it on a hormonal change as I switched over to a IUD, if I’m really honest with myself, the culprit is how I’ve been eating.

Note:  all that’s going on there on my chin.. those aren’t moles, those are zits. WAY too many for my liking.

My body responds so much better when I’m eating healthy… skin included.  So, I’m blasting this acne with lots of veggies and fruit, and all the water.

Lastly, I’m not managing stress as well as I’d like right now.  Things get stressful, that’s inevitable… but when your life is in order, you can manage is better.  It’s time to get my life on track – – cue the yoga, meditation, and physical activity.

So… what’s my plan???  If you’ve been following along on Instagram and Facebook (click the links to follow), you’ll know that I’m back 150% on the Jenny Craig plan.  I’m enjoying the foods and working hard to stay on track.  Actually, let me rephrase that, it’s REALLY easy to stay on track.  And, I’m doing it while enjoying all of their delicious foods.

It’s also Simple Inspiration time!  Have you heard about the recipe contest going on right now??? So, I’m extra inspired to create amazing dishes along the way… I’ve been posting like crazy over on Instagram and FB, so be sure to follow there if you’d like to see how I’m doing and how I put these dishes together!

So, here’s my plan for dropping the next thirty pounds:

  1. I’m cooking up a storm with Jenny Craig.
  2. I’m drinking all the water and much less rosé.
  3. I’m sharing my journey so others can enjoy the ideas and so I can stay inspired!
  4. I’m going to move my body.  Maybe not every day, but often
  5. I plan to take care of my mind through meditation.

I’ve got a family trip coming up in October, and I’d sure love to have the bulk of these pounds well on their way away from me forever by the time I hit the beach.  There’s no time like the presence to get this going…

Let’s do this! xoxo

According to Weight Watchers Fruit is Free Unless You Blend It

According to Weight Watchers Fruit is Free Unless You Blend It

I weighed in at Weight Watchers on Thursday after being gone for our honeymoon, celebrating the 4th of July and my birthday, and I’m happy to say that my weight stayed the same. After several days of lobster and other delicious food, coconut drinks and Prosecco I know that it’s time to get back on track. We celebrated my birthday with a few friends on Friday night as well, and I ate two child size slices of pizza. The celebrations haven’t stopped since we got married. Actually, they started before that when our close friends were married, and we’ve been celebrating ever since (about 7 weeks.) I’m definitely not complaining, but all of this fun is exhausting! I’m thankful to be back home and getting settled into married life. Now that all of the major life events are over (for now) it’s time to get back into a healthy groove. Michael and I both know how important it is to make healthy choices, and we’re striving to do it together. We’re at the point in which we don’t have anything interesting unhealthy to snack on, so we look to things like fruit and high-protein snacks when we want something. I’m […]

Weight Watchers: “What’s Your Why?”

Weight Watchers: “What’s Your Why?”

Michael and I joined Weight Watchers together over the weekend, and I went to my first meeting today. The meetings aren’t new to me, but I had never been to that one before. I liked it. When I opened my “Success Story” weigh-in book I noticed a question that I never noticed before. It said, “What’s your why?” What’s motivating me to try this again? What are my reasons? What are some specific details that led me to walking into a meeting? My simple answer has always been that I want to lose weight, but the answer seems more specific now. I’m so close to my lowest recorded weight as an adult (284 pounds,) and I want to reach it. I actually want to exceed that, and for the first time in a while it feels like I can do it. I’ve lost about 100 pounds since September, which was hard. I realize that it’s only going get harder as the journey continues, so I’m trying to form some good habits now by tracking. Tracking my food intake is easier to do when I eat at home and plan what I’m going to eat when I’m not at home, so […]
